Freezer Friendly Lazy Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 Onion Diced
  • 5 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 24 oz Pasta sauce
  • 14 oz Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Dried basil
  • 1 tsp Parsley
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Bay leaf

NOT IN BAG:

  • 10 Lasagna noodles Uncooked
  • 4 cup Beef broth

Instructions

    PREPARING:

    1. Cook ground beef, drain grease, and set aside to cool.

    2. Cut up onion and add to bag.

    3. Add minced garlic, pasta sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, parsley, oregano, salt, and bay leaf to bag.

    4. Add cooled beef to bag and seal.

    COOKING:

    6. After thawing, dump the bag and uncooked lasagna noodles in the Instant Pot and add 4 cups of broth.

    7. Cook on manual/pressure cook for 3 minutes and do a 5 minute natural release then a quick release.

    8. Let each person add the amount of cheese desired to their bowl and enjoy!

Notes

CROCKPOT ALTERNATIVE:

1. Dump bag and broth into crockpot and cook on low for 7-8 hours. Add the noodles in the last hour and stir to make sure they are in the sauce.

GLUTEN FREE AND DAIRY FREE ALTERNATIVE:

-Swap pasta out for your favorite gluten free version. We personally like one that is mostly corn based!

-Swap out cheese for a dairy free cheese.

The instructions say to not add noodles to the bag, but it looks like you have them in your bag. Do you add the uncooked noodles to your freezer bag when you make this?

It's optional, you can add them uncooked to the bag if you'd like or throw them in later when you go to cook the meal :)

If I were to use regular egg noodles instead of the lasagna noodles, how much would you recommend?
